I am a Ugandan multidisciplinary artist based in Kampala, with a background in Industrial and Fine Art from Makerere University. My creative journey is shaped by curiosity, experimentation, and a desire to explore the connections between people, spaces, and stories.My practice moves between portraiture, drawing, painting, photography, spatial and interior design, crafts, food, and event-making. I create experiences that bring different disciplines together. My work often begins with an exciting image or idea, growing into questions about how it might become a space, object, meal, exhibition, event, or story.I am drawn to how creative fields speak to one another. Food explores culture, memory, and identity; portraiture truly sees people and the stories they hold; and spaces or events bring visual art, design, food, and community into one shared experience. My undergraduate research explored portrait drawing inspired by culinary activities, reflecting this relationship between what we see, make, and experience. Through a photography project for Malewa, I found an invitation to inherit a great cultural legacy, discovering food as a fluent visual language.I am also developing my skills through working in photography professionally, gaining a deeper understanding of it as both a creative practice and a profession.I am still discovering what my practice will ultimately become. I carry many creative ideas, sometimes more than I know how to execute, and I am learning to turn imagination into disciplined, tangible work while letting my varied interests inform one another.At the heart of it, I want to make beautiful, thoughtful things that invite people to feel, wonder, connect, and see the familiar with fresh eyes. I am interested in an expansive creative life. I am here to keep learning, experimenting, collaborating, and finding my way.
